Family Voices in Massachusetts has received a grant to help build the organization within the state! Plans are underway for parent leaders to discuss better ways of communicating and working together. A Massachusetts Family Voices web site is under construction, and a regular page on health issues appears quarterly in a statewide parent newsletter. Family Voices members are paid staff within the Title V agency, providing information and support on health concerns to families around the state. Members are also active with the Children's Hospital, Part C, the Academy of Pediatrics, and work with many other health advocates. Finding enough qualified providers, particularly in home care, and getting information about the supports or services their children might qualify for is a critical problem for families in Massachusetts.
