Stryker Pain Pump
Recently, The American Journal of Sports Medicine published an article linking reports of postarthroscopic glenohumeral chondrolysis to intra articular pain pump catheters. They found that pain pump implants in the shoulder may cause permanent shoulder problems. Models, currently being investigated include:
• Stryker Pain Pump, Stryker PainPump 1, Shoulder Pain Pump2 and the Styker PainPump Blockaid • I-Flow Pain Pump, On-Q Painbuster (ONQ) (I Flow) (Q Pain Pump) • Donjoy Shoulder Pain Pump, Donjoy Pain Control Device, Accufuser Plus Pain Pump
There have been a number of lawsuits filed against the makers of surgical pain pumps Pain alleging a link to Chondrolysis and destruction of shoulder joint and cartilage. Symptoms include shoulder weakness, pain and a decreased range of rotation, clicking, popping and/or grinding of the shoulder and cartilage.
